Wheelchair & Occupant Restraints are used in conjunction. They are designed and crash tested to ensure occupant safety. The wheelchair restraints are available in several configurations:

• Automatic lock-downs are frequently used by people who drive from their wheelchairs. They engage quickly and are ready to go.
• Tie-down straps come in manual and retractors. Manual straps use buckles that must be cinched down. Retractors pull up the slack automatically. Both strap type requires attachment points to all four corners of the wheelchair.
• Occupant belts either connect to floor pockets/tracks or the tie-down straps. They come as a lap belt or lap/shoulder belt combination.

To ensure occupant safety while riding in a wheelchair, proper floor tracks, wheelchair and occupant restraints are necessary.
